Robert (Bob) Bevis was born on February 29, 1949, and
raised in the Seattle, Washington area. While his formal art
training consisted of several years of junior college and an
occasional art school class, the majority of his visual
training has been self-taught.
During his formal years of art training, he involved
himself with understanding as many mediums and techniques as
possible, such as printmaking, design, sculpting, and
painting.
Bob uses a wide array of techniques and mediums, each
having its own visual identity or look. He prefers colored
pencil on paper for his larger photorealistic and historically
accurate work (each piece involving 150 to 460 hours to
complete). He’s also fond of Gouache (an opaque water color)
for his smaller more painterly automotive and impressionistic
works. For his more contemporary works, he uses mixed mediums
and acrylics.
Bob produced the original art used for the
KIRKLAND CONCOURS for the past two seasons.
Bob is currently exploring various printing techniques for
future works. |
